We would like to plant a pink dogwood tree. When is the best time? We wanted to plant it in the front yard which is on the east side and does get alot of summer sun. I was told it should be shaded by other trees or building, is this true? Thank you |
Either fall or spring are good times to transplant landscape trees and shrubs. Dogwoods are considered understory trees. They prefer to be protected from hot afternoon sunshine, so plant in an area that gets morning sun and filtered afternoon shade for best performance. Flowering trees that will do well on the east side of your yard include ornamental pear or crabapples. They both love summer sunshine. Best wishes with your landscape! |
