| I've heard that the urine of female dogs is more damaging because of extra hormones. I don't think there's any scientific evidence to prove that rumor, though. The lawn damage is caused by the salts in the urine. Anything you can do to dilute the urine immediately after it comes in contact with your lawn will help prevent brown spots. So, if you can't keep your dogs off the lawn, you can hose off the areas after they've relieved themselves to minimize damage. If the lawn is already dead you'll need to rake it out, roots and all and reseed the bare areas. Best wishes with your lawn! |
