| Why are the leaves on maple tree browning all over? |
| It's difficult to say without know which maple you are growing, but browning can indicate wind or sunburn, or water stress. It can take trees a full year to become established in a landscape and during this stressful period it can look quite awful. If the browning leaves is due to wind or sun damage, your tree will outgrow it. If the problem is water stress, the branches can be as affected as the foliage. Maples will drink as much water as you supply so be sure that you're watering deeply once each week; twice if the weather is hot. Build a basin or watering well beneath your maple and fill the basin with water, allow to drain, then fill it a second time. This method of watering concentrates the moisture over the rootmass and allows it to trickle down and wet the entire rootmass. This will encourage a deep root system - important for trees.
