How do I keep birds, primarily Blue Jays, out of the strawberry patch? They eat the berries even before they are ripe.

You'll need to use netting to keep the birds off the ripening fruit. Set up a tent over the planting, using PVC pipe to prop the netting up, so it's away from the fruit. Use dirt, boards or bricks to hold netting down on each side of bed. The netting and PVC pipe can be reused over and over again.
