Generally, times suggested for application of insecticides to kill and control grubs in lawns are in the period beginning in mid-June and ending in July. Due to temperature variances, these times might differ for your part of the country, so you may want to check with your Cooperative Extension office for exact dates in your region. Grubs are close to the surface in the early summer so grub control products are most effective then. There are lots of products to choose from: Milky Spore is organic; inorganic products include Grub X, Bayer Grub control and Merit. Be sure to apply according to label directions.
