I bought a hydrengia and a gardenia about a year ago. the leaves are curling and turning brown.What should i do? what kind of bug or bugs do they have? I bought them at home depot. Maria solaita

If just the margins of the leaves are turning brown, it usually indicates overwatering (or soils that do not drain well), or too much nitrogen fertilizer. It's late in the season and the leaves will fall from your plants soon. Be sure the soil drains quickly (if not, dig them up in early spring and raise them up a bit so the roots are not sitting in a soggy hole). Don't fertilize next spring and your plants should be fine during the entire growing season next year. Enjoy!
