The Q&A Archives: Azalea Bushes

Question: When is the best time to prune my azalea bushes?
Deb ~

Answer: Because azaleas bloom in the spring, the best time to prune them is immediately after they have finished flowering. If you prune them now you'll prune off next year's flowers! Wait until next year to prune them back.
