Answer: What you've done for your tropical hibiscus is perfect - in terms of wintering it indoors. Hibiscus can be pruned back hard after being taken back outdoors in the spring and as long as it gets plenty of sunshine, the new growth should flower. Hibiscus needs heat and sunshine in order to bloom so next spring when you take it back outdoors, place it in a shady spot until new growth begins, then prune it back and set it in a sunny spot. The new stems and foliage will be able to stand the hot summer sun and you should get flowers next summer. Hope so!
