I would like to plant some sort of evergreen that would not grow taller than 3 feet. It will be under a bay window and will get full sun almost all day. Everything I have planted there has grown quite large, even dwarf varieties and I've had to pull it out. Can you recommend something?

Buxus microphylla japonica "Green Beauty" ("Green Beauty" Japanese Boxwood) grows 3' by 3' at maturity.

COMPACT BRONZE HINOKI CYPRESS (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Pygmaea Aurescens') grows 2' high and spreads 5' wide.

CRIMSON PYGMY DWARF JAPANESE BARBERRY (Berberis thunbergii 'Crimson Pygmy') grows 2' high, 3' wide.

DWARF BLACK SPRUCE (BLUE NEST SPRUCE) Picea mariana `Nana`; 3' high, 4-6' wide.

DWARF CORAL HEDGE BARBERRY (Berberis x stenophylla 'Corallina Compacta'); 2' tall and wide.

ELF DWARF MOUNTAIN LAUREL (Kalmia latifolia 'Elf') grows 3-4' tall and wide.

Hope these suggestions are helpful.
