Hello,

I am in the process of laying down my compost and was wondering if I should mix the compost with lime and manure or do them separatly? Or could I just put the compost and manure down first then put the lime down?

Thank you in advance,

Mary Beth

I'm not sure I would add lime at all - unless your soil is extremely acidic and you want to raise the pH. In this case, spread lime on the soil first. It takes quite some time to work its way into the soil and change the pH. Then spread your compost or aged-manure (either one is adequate, unless you have only a small amount of each and need to mix them to provide enough product to spread over your garden area). Hope this answers your questions!
