The Q&A Archives: Lawn

Question: I have Ground Ivy in my lawn and I would like to find something to get rid of this ivy.I try to pull up the roots which are long and easy to break apart, but it is time consuming. Please help!

Answer: I can't tell from your description just what the creeping weed might be. There are many: creeping charlie, henbit, buttercup, sorrel, and ground ivy are all possibilities, but control is slightly different and so is the timing of the control options. I'd take a sample of the problem weed to your local nursery or cooperative extension office for positive identification and control options. Best wishes with your lawn!
