I am going to start our first small vegetable garden this week with my daughters. It's still around 90 degrees here in Southern California, what would you recommend? Trying to interperet the information on you website with my disabilities was too difficult. Thanks for your help.
Shawn
P.S. Hold the onions and peppers please.

Although your weather is warm now, it will be cooling off soon so you'll want to concentrate on cool season vegetables that you can harvest in 2-3 months. Some that will grow well for you and can be planted now include beets, broccoli, brussel's sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, lettuce and peas. Next spring you can plant tomatoes, squash and green beans. Enjoy your garden!
