The Q&A Archives: replanting pods from lupine

Question: My lupines have pods on them, I took them off and saved them. Can I plant the seeds now or do I wait til spring?

Answer: You can sow the seeds in the garden now or save and plant them in the spring. They'll germinate faster in the spring if you sow them now. Open the pods to release the seeds and then broadcast them over the earth, covering with a thin layer of garden soil or peatmoss to help them make good contact with the soil.

Good luck with your new plants!
