| Gerbera daisies are from Africa where the weather remains warm. I'm afraid your plant won't winter over outdoors in Illinois. It doesn't make a suitable houseplant (although you can try). I've had good success just taking the pot into an unheated garage and keeping the soil on the dry side. It rests during the winter months and when I resume watering in the spring, it comes back to life. Why not give this method a try? |
