I have avocado white fly on only one of my avocado trees. I get nice new leaves but loose alot of older ones. If I leave this pest alone will it harm my tree? It was very hard to spray under the leaves last time. And should this 3 year old tree be trimmed?
Thank you

Stephanie,
You are correct that spraying is difficult with those trees. I suggest you leave it and see how it goes. Those pests have natural enemies that may bring the populations back into a balance. Your County Extension Office can provide info on how to prune an avocado if you feel your tree is getting out of hand. Normally there is very little pruning needed on those trees.
