would like info on pruning a magnolia tree.

There are two general types of magnolias which you might be referring to in your area, deciduous and the southern magnolia (evergreen). Neither needs any special pruning. They are pruned only to shape the tree somewhat to a form the owner desires or in some cases to remove lower limbs, again only if you desire that look. The distinction is to prune the deciduous types in early spring after they bloom. The southern magnolia on the other hand can be pruned most any time you like.
