The Q&A Archives: Turnip greens

Question: Hi,I have a small spot about 10x30.How much of turnip green seed, would I need to buy,not with the turnips.I've never planted any before,I like to try,,Thank U,,Roy

Answer: You only need about an ounce of seeds for your 300 square feet of garden. You can broadcast the seeds over the entire area and then thin them to give each about 3" of space all around, or you can plant them in rows. Be sure to cover the seeds with a light coating of soil or peatmosss, both to keep them moist and to discourage birds from feeding on the seeds. Best wishes with your turnip greens!
