I recently purchased two rubber plants. I don't know exactly where to place them in my sun room. I had them away from the window and then placed them by the window to get sun. The leaves are turning yellow then brown and falling off. The plants are beautiful and I hate to see them die. Please help. |
It sounds to me as though your new rubber plants are trying to adjust to their new home. I suspect that they are getting too much direct sunlight and too much water. When it comes to rubber plant care, the correct balance of water and light is crucial. Your rubber tree needs bright light, but it prefers indirect light that isn?t too hot. Some people recommend putting it near a window that has sheer curtains. This allows plenty of light, but not too much. Your rubber tree plant also needs the right balance of water. During the growing season, the soil needs to be kept moist. If you water the rubber tree plant too much, the leaves will turn yellow and brown and fall off. During the winter dormant season, it may only need to be watered once or twice a month. If the leaves begin to droop, but not fall off, increase the water you give the rubber tree house plant gradually until the leaves perk back up again. I'd move the plants away from direct sunshine and reduce watering. Your plants should perk right up. |
