| Although you can dig and transplant any time the ground is not frozen, roses seem to do best when they are transplanted when they are dormant. So, wait a few weeks until frost has nipped the tops of your plants and your rose and hydrangea have lost all their leaves. Then transplant and water them in well. Their root systems will establish by early spring and they should be ready to grow as soon as the weather warms in the spring. Best wishes with the move! |
