The Q&A Archives: When should I prune my rhododendron bush?

Question: When is the best time to prune my rhododendron bush?

Answer: In the spring, immediately after flowering has finished is the best time to prune your rhododendron. Rhodies spend all summer developing flower buds for the following spring's display - if you prune now, you'll prune off all the flower buds. Wait until flowering has finished and then prune. Enjoy your garden!
