The Q&A Archives: Name of small shrub planted in front of house?

Question: We have a small shrub planted in front of the house with pointed green leaves that have lighter green in the center of the leaves. We have been told it looks something like Plumbago, but the colors in the leaves are different. The shrubs were bought at the Crystal River Home Depot, but I haven't been able to find them at that store.

Answer: Sandra,
That description doesn't bring a particular plant to mind as several have those general characteristics. I suggest you try taking a branch with foliage or a good closeup photo to your County Extension Office for them to look over and help identify. I think with a sample in hand they'll be able to determine the identity of your mystery shrub. Their contact info is:
3650 W. Sovereign Path
