I am in zone 8. I want to do a basket of Cuphea. It says in the article that I am getting this idea from Cuphea is an annual except in zones 9 to 11. Also, I would like to plant some small leaf ivy on the outer edges of the pot. Is their care similiar enough to plant together. If not what kind of draping plant could I use. Thank You Iris

If you can keep your Cuphea from freezing temperatures, it will be a perennial plant; if not, consider it an annual that will need to be replaced each spring. Cuphea thrives in full sunshine, as does ivy so they should make good companions. Enjoy!
