| Either Bermuda or Centipede grass are the most commonly grown turfgrasses in your gardening region. Spring is the best planting time. To prepare the lawn area, remove any weeds and debris, including large rocks, construction material, etc. Then apply 1? to 2 inches of compost (landscape mix) across the area to be sodded or seeded. Establish a rough grade 1 to 1? inches below sidewalks and install sprinklers. An automated system is recommended to save time and water. Make sure sprinklers have good head coverage. Water to settle compost and to build water reserves in the soil. Rake for a finished grade. Then either broadcast seed or install your sod. Best wishes with your new lawn! |
