The Q&A Archives: Time to prune

Question: When should I begin to prune my perennial garden? I let it stay a bit overgrown in the winter to give the bottom of the plants a bit of protection from the short freezes we have. Is it too early?

Answer: You can cut back your perennials now, removing all dead foliage to soil level. They'll be ready to grow as soon as the weather warms. Enjoy!
