I tried to germinate your mixed color pepper seeds, but had poor results. I used a heating mat. What went wrong? |
Capsicum (pepper) seeds will germinate in 21-30 days at 70F to 75F degrees. They need light to germinate, so sprinkle the seeds on moistened soil starting mix and press them in with your hand, but don't add more soil to cover them. Supply bottom heatand the seeds should sprout in 3 to 4 weeks. If you cover the trays with plastic wrap, you'll help hold in needed moisture. Be sure to remove the plastic after the seeds have sprouted. Perhaps you just need to be patient and wait for the rest of the seeds to sprout? Or, you can try planting again, but not burying the seeds. Better luck on your second attempt! |
