| My mature azaleas did not get trimmed back after last springs blooming so I was wondering how much I can trim after this years blooming without leaving them vulnerable to the heat? |
| After your azalea finishes blooming, you can safely prune it back by about one-third. Azaleas spend the summer months growing and developing flower buds for the following year's floral display so prune as soon after the flowering is finished as possible so it will have several months to recover and develop flower buds. |
