Is wild onion (also known as wild garlic) edible?

Wild onion is edible in small quantities, but some species can cause stomach upset. A word of caution: there is a plant in the lily family called Black Snakeroot that has onion-like bulbs. This plant is poisonous. Be sure you have identified the plant asa true onion (Allium) before you eat it.
