I have 2 20 year old oak trees in my front yard. The area does get some sun.

The roots are above the ground and have killed my lawn.

What can I do to have a front lawn again. I live Zone 9. I do not want a front yard full of ground cover.

Wish I had good news for you but with the raised roots, mowing a lawn would be difficult - if you could coax a lawn to grow beneath an oak tree. I'm afraid the best thing to plant would be groundcover. Not what you wanted to hear, but the best advice we have!
