The temp got down to 5 degrees F this winter. My bergenia are laying down. Will they survive? Anything I can do to help them? Thanks.

With any luck at all, only the tops of the plants were affected and the roots are still alive. If so, new growth should emerge from the top of the plant. Unless the current leaves are dead, I'd leave them alone. They may perk up. If not, you can safely remove them once you see new growth emerging. In the meantime, their presence will help insulate the roots of the plant in case of more frosty weather. Hope your plants perk up soon!
