We had 32 degrees & below in Tampa, FL 33647 four times the past 2 wks. We covered everything with double layers of sheets & towels to the ground. We still got freeze bite. The fronds on the Robelini and Date palms are brown...green down into the frond. The hibiscus, bougainvillea, navel orange & crape myrtle leaves are all brown & wrinkled. We are new to FL......Help? |
I know it's disappointing to you to have your entire landscape look frost bitten but the good news is that the damage is only temporary. The best thing to do is to prune away all of the damaged plant material. When new growth begins your plants will fill out nicely and by the end of the summer the frost damage will be just a memory. Best wishes with your landscape! |
