The Q&A Archives: Annual Hollyhock Varieties

Question: I have some old-fashioned hollyhocks that are perennials (biennials?). I'm hoping to find an annual variety that I can plant now in the spring and still have bloom this year. If such a thing exists, will they be just as tall as the perennial variety? And where can I find them?<br>

Answer: Here are two varieties of annual hollyhock that are All-America winners: 'Majorette' Mixed, a 30" dwarf, and 'Summer Carnival', a double-bloomer which stands tall at 6'. Thompson & Morgan offers both (; ph# 800/274-7333. Enjoy!
