The Q&A Archives: how do we kill a weed that covers our lawn

Question: We have two weeds with round leaf and a pointed leaf. Both have a white root with numerous runners. They stay green all year. How can we kill it?

Answer: I can't identify the weeds you describe so the best advice would be to dig one up and take it to your local nursery for identification. Once you know what you're dealing with, you can either spot treat with a broadleaf weed killer or treat the entire lawn. Most weed killers are selective so you'll need to find the name of the weed and the type of lawn you are growing both listed on herbicide label. Best wishes with your lawn!
