The Q&A Archives: landscaping from scratch

Question: Where can I go for idea help w/my front yard b/c I have little funds to deal with & need to start from scratch?

Answer: You can gather design ideas by looking at your neighbor's gardens, checking out landscaping books at your local library and by contacting your local Master Gardeners. Simply make a list of the plants you like and research their growing needs, then make a sketch of your yard and decide what you want where. I think it's easiest to start out small and work in the details as you find plants that appeal to you. Best wishes with your new landscape!
