Liquidambers - do they need to be watered in the dormant months?

Most trees and shrubs will do best if watered during the winter time. This is especially true of small trees and shrubs. If your liquidamber tree is mature, it can get along with natural rainfall when it is dormant; if it is small, water it deeply every 2-3 weeks, even in the wintertime.
