We live in Dallas with 20 ft tall photinia. I would like to remove all the limbs below 10 ft leaving the upper branchs to block the neighbors. When is the best time do do this? Thanks, Bill

You can prune now. Expect new shoots and leaves to sprout from the bare trunks this summer. Simply rub them off before they get too large. Eventually the photinia will stop generating growth along the trunk and will concentrate its effort on growing the top of the plant. Best wishes with your landscape!
