| I have a bank of old rug junipers. They are healthy but overgrown and full of leaves. How much can I cut them back? Should I try and get all the leaves from under them? |
| The leaves will decompose on their own and will add nutrients to the soil so unless they are terribly unsightly, I would just leave them where they are. You can safely prune your junipers back by about a third. If they need to be taken back more you can finish pruning the following spring. Don't take too much off at one time or the plants may not replace the lost foliage. Best wishes with your junipers. |
