| Last year we planted two Candy Corn climbing vines and they did wonderful and bloomed little candy corns all summer. They are now black after all the snow and ice we had! Are they dead? Do I trim them back to the ground? Do I dig them up and throw them away? How do I tell if they are worth saving? |
| I'd give the plants a chance before digging and disposing of them. The frost bitten parts can be pruned away from the plants, all the way down to ground level. Wait until May before you decide they're gonners. They may surprise you and sprout new stems as soon as the soil warms up. Hope so! |
