Like the title says, I live in Colorado and this is my back yard. Veins of pure clay run through too.The hill is extremely steep but still gets sun half the day. It's covered in long grass now but I want low-maintenance flowers or ornamental grass. I don't like yucca/cactus. I've tried lily/other bulbs without success. Suggestions? Perennials? Wildflowers? Thanks!!

I found an excellent publication from Colorado State University that lists all types of plants that can be successfully grown in the site you describe:
http://www.ext.colostate.edu/P...

You can download the publication and take the plant list with you when you go shopping. Best wishes with your landscape~
