I have two large clumps of Pampas grass in my back yard that I don't want. I prefer having Liliac bushes in there. How can I get them out?

Because you want to plant something different in the spots where pampas grass is growing you have no alternative but to dig the plants out, roots and all. This will be a major project so I hope you can recruit some help. Expect the roots to be at least 18" deep and directly beneath the pampas grass clump. Best wishes with your project!
