OUR YARD ID BARE AND BERMUDA GRASS GROWS INTO AND AROUND EVERYTHING PLANTED AND WHERE WE WATER TREES AND THE GARDEN. WE DIG IT OUT EVERY OTHER MONTH BUT KEEPS COMING BACK |
By far the most effective and economical way of controlling weeds is to apply pre-emergent weed control products before weed seeds germinate. There are numerous Pre-Emergent products designed specifically for certain types of grasses and for use in beds and vegetable gardens. There are different pre-emergent weed control products for both grassy and broadleaf weeds. So, pulling the Bermuda is your first step, followed by an application of pre-emergent to keep the seeds from sprouting. Covering over the bare soil with either a weed barrier or several inches of organic mulch will block the sunshine and keep seeds from germinating. You can cut slits in the weed barrier to plant, or you can rake away the organic mulch to plant. Good luck with your garden! |
