The Q&A Archives: Root Invasion

Question: Is there an evergreen screen that can be planted near a well that won't have a root system that will interfer with the well?

Answer: The roots of most trees and shrubs will seek out water and can cause problems so why not plant vines instead? You can build a trellis or construct a fence out of hog wire and train the vines to grow up the trellis or fence. Roots of most vining plants are relatively non-invasive.
