| I purchased a blueberry bush that does not require another one nearby to produce. It was growing well until the snow fell and i noticed it was not at big as it was before. now that lots of snow has melted, i went out to look at it. It was no more than 8 inches tall! looks like it has been snipped. and little pieces were also on the ground. is it too late to put up some sort of protection? |
| It is never too late to add protection. Perhaps the easiest thing to do is to encircle the plant with a chicken wire cylinder and then dump leaves, pine needles, straw or even peat moss into the cylinder. This will provide some freeze protection and yet allow water to drain away. In the spring just pull up on the cylinder and the organic matter will fall away and can become mulch for around your plant. Best wishes with your garden! |
