| I bought bulbs at the end of the season but did not get them planted before the snow/cold weather became a daily event. Can I still plant them in the spring and they will bloom this year? Or can I still plant them but they won't bloom until next year 2010? Tulips and daffs. Regards, Karen |
| It's important to get the bulbs in the ground as soon as possible - they won't survive if you don't. Plant them now and they will produce foliage but probably won't bloom. They should bloom for you next spring, though. If this situation occurs again, plant the bulbs in containers and set them outdoors. They need the cool winter temps for 12-16 weeks to produce roots before they can grow and flower. |
