Lilac Trimming - Knowledgebase Question

Hi, Could you tell me if it is o.k. to cut back on my lilac bushes at the end of winter? (Before they start to bud out)?

Lilacs spend all summer developing flower buds for the following years' bloom. If you prune them back now, you will be pruning off all the flowers for this years floral display. If you don't care about the flowers, you can prune them back now, but I'd wait until after they have finished blooming.
