I know castor oil can be sprayed to control moles. However I have 7 acres of land. I heard you could also plant castor beans as a plant and it would help. Where does the castor oil come from? Is there a seed to plant? |
Castor oil comes from the castor bean (Ricinus communis). All parts of this plant are poisonous. The plant that is commonly used in gardens to repel moles is Euphorbia lathyris, the Gopher Plant. It's an annual, but the flowers produce seeds, so it can reseed an area. The stems of this plant exude a sticky, irritating substance. If you, or a mole, manage to get this on your skin, you'll stay away from the plant! |
