The Q&A Archives: tangerine tree as patio plant (in pot )

Question: I bought a honey tangerine tree and don't had big yard , is it ok to plant it in pot like Kumquat tree -compact -patio plant in pot ?? thanks

Answer: If your tangerine tree is a dwarf variety, it will be perfectly happy in a pot on your patio. If it is a standard sized tree, you can only keep it in a container for a few years before it outgrows the pot. You can either do some root pruning to keep it small or you'll need to plant it in the yard in a few years. Good luck with your tree!
