I want to build 2 dog houses for our dogs [68 & 78#'s] to give them protection from the heat. They are outside dogs. This is a project for my stepson ,3yo daughter and I. I found the plans that I like but can I use the 'plastic' wood?

The manufactured timbers should be just fine. Plastic doesn't breathe the way wood does so take that into consideration when you build - a few gaps in either the walls or the roof will ensure that moisture/humidity does not build up in the doghouse. Best wishes with your project!
