I live outside Harrisburg, PA and I planted some pampas grass that grew quite well last year. When do I prune it back for the new year and to what height? Thanks for your help!

Ornamental grasses may be cut back in late fall or very early spring before they begin to grow. Some gardeners like to leave the seed heads and foliage for winter interest, others prefer to tidy the garden in fall. You can cut your pampas grass back to any height, or simply remove anything that looks brown. When the weather warms in the spring, new growth will sprout up and cover over anything that might look unattractive. enjoy your garden!
