I have large planter and every spring I plant or try to plant impatients but as they start to grow, the plants have been eaten away at the soil line. What can I do to get rid of cutworms, I have tried wrapping in aluminum foil and results not great. HELP !! |
Short of removing and replacing the soil in your planter, you can place a twig or toothpick next to the main stems of each of your plants to keep cutworms from encircling the stem and chewing it off at soil level. The idea is to keep the pests from being able to encircle the stems. You might even try placing 3 toothpicks around each stem. Best wishes with your garden! |
