The Q&A Archives: clay soil

Question: what can i plant

Answer: Clay soil can be amended with organic matter such as compost or aged manure to help loosen it and help it drain faster. Once you have amended the soil, you can plant most any flower you like. Start by spreading 4-5 inches of compost over the bed and digging it in to a depth of 8-10 inches. Then level the bed and plant your favorite plants. They should be healthy and happy in their new, enriched soil. Enjoy!
